Lindsey Stirling

I was recently turned onto a new musician, Lindsey Stirling. She plays the violin and mixes it with some dubstep, techno, whatever you want to call it. Whatever it is I'm absolutely obsessed with. Seriously can't get enough. Every time I hear it on my iPod I repeat whichever song it is at least six times. Just yesterday as I was listening to my iPod at work her favorite song of mine, Shadows, came on and I listened to it for at least 20 minutes, over and over again! Kid you not! Til it was time for me to go! I also like the Phantom of the Opera medley she does. I love Shadows because it's so upbeat. It's kind of folky and whimsical ish to me. It reminds me of a couple of scenes. One from the TV show Firefly when River is dancing the may pole, it's the witch episode I believe. And the other is the scene in Titanic on the lower class level when Rose and Jack drink and dance with 3rd class. It makes me want to get up and dance. Be in the middle of a filed of flowers and dance. I know, a little hippy or crazy, but whatever! I will have to thank my sister for turning me onto her music. seriously, just love it!

At Last We Meet

Sunday I finally got to meet Bill's little ones. Olivia and Sophia. Absolutely adorable. Extremely shy. It took them about 15 minutes before they would say a word. Lol. But they eventually warmed up. I met them at Chuck e Cheese and then we went to the park. I can't tell you how long I've been waiting to meet them and I'm so glad I finally did. I'm excited to become a part of their lives. It will be a slow process but it's finally begun and we can move forward from here. :)

Megan's Bachelorette Party 3.23.13

Saturday was Megan's bachelorette party. She is my cousin Corey's fiancee. Excited to have her join the family officially!

Let me tell you we had a lot of fun. We went to Hamburger Mary's to have dinner and watch the drag show. What a show. It was pretty good. Definitely got me and everyone else hooting and hollering and just having a great time! I didn't bring my camera but used the one on my phone and it shows, HA! I did the best I could.

We started out with drinks at Julie's house, some kind of wine drink or kind of like jungle juice, i'm not really sure, but it was good. Then followed the limo with champagne, a glass for everyone and a few followed that up with some vodka and/or jack and coke on the way there. Then of course as soon as we arrived the drinks were flowing. It was a lot of fun, the service was a little slow but the food was pretty good and of course the show was great. Here's some of the pictures from that night....again from my phone, don't judge ;)

Obviously the bride to be is in white! it was a cute idea...everyone else wore all black and colorful heels while the bride to be was in white!

MMM Daryl Dixon

****SPOILERS!!****

As I watched the latest episode of The Walking Dead last night, I wanted to reach in and hug Daryl Dixon!

Yes that’s right, The Walking Dead. Zombies are definitely one of my bugaboos, but I             decided I’d watch the series anyway and I absolutely love it. I can’t get enough of it. I           think I don’t mind it because the zombies aren’t fast, I don’t like fast zombies. Now, it has       given me more zombie dreams than I care to have, but that’s ok. The show is great, it’s worth it. Again, slow zombies, so I’m ok.

Anyway, back to Daryl! Poor guy just broke my heart crying for his brother. Makes me want to shed a tear thinking about it. I didn’t think I’d be sad seeing Merle die and become a Zombie, but I did. The moment he let Michonne go and started killing the bad guys I was almost rooting for him. When the governor shot him, I was a little upset. Poor Daryl :( We’ll have to wait and see what his reaction will be in the season finale this weekend.

Let’s talk about Daryl for a minute. I wasn’t sure about him when he first showed up. I don’t think anyone really liked him, how could you, he was cold and mean just like his brother. I didn’t know what to expect because you first encounter Merle and then you wonder what Daryl is like when the group says they have to tell him they left his brother chained to a roof in a city crawling with thousands of zombies! My affection for Daryl grew as the show has gone on. The way he searched for Sophia, poor Sophia, was touching. Watching his feelings change, even when he didn’t really know what to do with them was a wonderful thing to watch. Poor Carol got the brunt of that and still kept trying and knew the kind of man he could be. I’m still waiting for those two to get together. I’m still not sure if they have or not. I hope she’s there to comfort him when he gets back after this episode with his brother and he lets her!

I love that someone has created a whole page just for Daryl on Facebook. I believe it is called Hardcore Daryl Dixon Fans. I love it because he’s become one of my favorite characters. And I would love to have him there on my side in a zombie apocalypse! Let me tell you, I’d break through that tough shell and get me some Daryl Dixon! (Sorry honey, this is fiction after all). Give me Daryl to Shane or Rick or anyone of them.

Can’t wait to see what happens in the season finale!

Another year, Another wedding

Just like the title says, another year, another wedding! And no not mine…not yet. Another cousin is getting married. My cousin Corey, who’s sister just got married in May last year. I couldn’t be happier for him and Megan (his fiancĂ©e). They are pretty perfect for each other. She is a wonderful addition to our family and I look forward to watching them grow together and make a family of their own.

I’m looking forward to taking pictures at the wedding since I will be a guest and not in the wedding. It was much harder to take pictures at the last wedding being in the wedding party. I’m not involved in this wedding at all so I’m excited to see how it all looks and comes together on the day of. Which is only a few weeks away.

But first, the bachelorette party tomorrow night. It should be a lot of fun. We will get all dolled up and then we are going to see a drag show in West Hollywood. I’ve never been to one of these, but I’m excited. The only thing I can think of is the movie The Birdcage (which I absolutely love) or RuPaul’s drag show; men in big hair, wigs and lip singing their hearts out!

Another first will be a party bus, these girls like to drink, we will be taking one of those to the show,. Better to be safe about it!

As my camera is big and bulky I will not be taking it. BUT I’ll take lots of pictures on my phone and hopefully they’ll turn out just fine!

The happy couple...I know, not the best picture.

Straight Hair

The other day I decided to straighten my hair. It was the day of my soon to be cousin's bridal shower. Bill was gone and I had nothing to do so I said what the hell. That's the only time I ever straighten my hair, when I have nothing to do. Wait, I also do it when I need a hair cut, err trim. I don't cut my hair, I trim it. It doesn't grow fast enough to warrant a cut. Which, I could probably use a trim now. If it wasn't such a pain in the ass I might do it more often. .... okay maybe not, I'm pretty lazy about that kind of thing. My hair is so easy, why take the time to do this. I've gotten it down to about an hour including the brushing out and/or blow drying. Way too long for me. Five minutes tops, no more, that's how I like to do it!

Fundraiser for AJ

This is a little late, but better late than never. Last weekend, on Sunday March 10th, the local sports bar and grill, Cronies, helped put on a fundraiser to raise money for my cousin AJ in what his family is going through. They said it was the biggest turnout they've had for a fundraiser, which is just so wonderful. The fundraiser was held all day, and they gave a portion to the family for everything they made. I drove by a few times before I actually went and it was busy all day. When we went, Bill & I, my family it was still packed and that was about 7PM. We can't thank everyone enough for all of the support.
